Building Types & Sizes

Public buildings greater than 10,000 square feet, that is owned by the city or for which the city regularly pays all or part of the annual energy bills.


Commercial and Multifamily buildings must report if:

- the building exceeds 50,000 gross square feet

- two or more buildings on the same tax lot that together exceed 100,000 gross square feet

- two or more buildings held in hte condominium form of ownership that are governed by the same board of managers and that together exceed 100,000 gross square feet.

Penalties

Failure to benchmark may result in a penalty of $500. Continued failure to benchmark may result in additional violations on a quarterly basis and an additional penalty of $500 per violation.
